Namaskar Workshop
Sunday 27 Sept 10:00-13:00
Service Description
This workshop explores Namaskar practice as a foundation for breath-led movement and intelligent sequencing. We will work with a range of salutations, beginning with Surya Namaskar from the Ashtanga Primary Series, breaking down each movement in relation to breath, transition, and alignment. The practice will then move into Chandra Namaskar (Moon Sequence), exploring a slower, more contained rhythm and how lunar qualities influence the nervous system and overall tone of practice. We will also work with Chikitsa Namaskar from Lion Cub, introducing a more therapeutic approach to movement and transition. The workshop begins with a short introduction discussing the different energies and intentions these salutations bring to practice and concludes with pranayama to integrate and settle the work. This workshop is suitable for students wishing to deepen their understanding of vinyasa structure and for teachers seeking a clearer, more refined approach to namaskar practice. This workshop may be counted as 3 hours of self-directed CPD for yoga teachers. Limited to 8 students to allow for individual attention. Booking confirms your place
