Private yoga sessions offer a more personalised approach to practice and can be adapted to suit individual needs, experience levels, injuries, mobility, energy levels, and intentions for practice.

Sessions may include movement, mobility work, breathwork, balance, strength, relaxation, prāṇāyāma, and traditional yoga practices depending on the individual or group.

Individualised Private Sessions (1–2 People)

Private sessions for one or two people are highly personalised and tailored specifically to those attending.

The first session is exploratory and allows time to assess movement patterns, mobility, balance, breathing habits, injuries or limitations, and overall experience level. This helps create a practice that is supportive, sustainable, and appropriately adapted over time.

Depending on mobility, balance, injuries, breathing patterns, or previous movement experience, students may begin with more foundational or gentle practices before progressing into more structured Vinyāsa Krama sequences. The emphasis is on developing a practice that is appropriate, sustainable, and supportive for the individual.

Depending on your needs, sessions may be:

  • gentle and mobility-focused,

  • restorative and breath-led,

  • strength and balance oriented,

  • or more dynamic and physically challenging.

Suitable for beginners through to experienced practitioners.

Before the session, students are invited to share:

  • injuries or medical conditions,

  • previous yoga or movement experience,

  • preferred intensity,

  • and any specific goals or areas of focus.

Self Practice

The way yoga is commonly practised today often differs from how it was traditionally taught. Traditionally, students were given practices tailored to the individual and refined progressively over time through ongoing guidance.

This approach remains central to the Vinyāsa Krama tradition and informs the structure of these private sessions. Rather than asking students to fit a fixed sequence or pace, the practice is adapted to the individual — supporting awareness, sustainability, confidence, and long-term development.

Private sessions encourage students to develop a more independent and embodied relationship with practice, learning to move, breathe, and respond to their own body with greater sensitivity and understanding.

Benefits of self-practice and private lessons include:

  • cultivating self-discipline and consistency over time,

  • building confidence to practise independently,

  • reducing injury risk by moving at an appropriate pace,

  • developing greater self-awareness,

  • and creating a more sustainable long-term relationship with practice.
