Service Description

In a time when we can ask ChatGPT for anything, it is more important than ever to preserve knowledge passed down from teacher to student through lineage (parampara). Ayurveda is not simply a body of information to be learned, it is a living tradition that is best understood through authentic transmission, respect for its origins, and lived experience. Within this workshop on Ayurveda, we will cover the following: - The history and origins of Ayurveda. - Ayurveda as the art of relating, not simply a system of medicine. - The five elements and how they give rise to the three doshas. - The qualities of each constitution and why what supports one person's health may not support another's. - Examples of how diet and lifestyle recommendations differ according to each constitution. - Ways in which we can connect with the five elements in everyday life. - Simple Ayurvedic principles to help maintain balance. - The fascinating parallels between Ayurveda and the Homeopathic Mappa Mundi. Everything I share on Ayurveda has been passed to me by my teacher, B. Naga Kumar, and is offered with deep respect for the lineage from which it comes. Disclaimer: I am not an Ayurvedic doctor. This workshop is not intended as medical training or medical advice. Instead, it is an exploration of Ayurveda as a life science and philosophy for living well. I will also share some insights from my ongoing study of Homoeopathy over the past two years. Suitable for anyone, yoga practioners, health practioners and anyone who is interested in learning about Ayurveda beyond the medicine.
